During a conversation with a fellow classroom parent, the conversation turned to children’s toys that are supposed to fly, but rarely make it off the ground for more than 3 seconds at a time. And then somewhere along the way the discussion turned to hobby planes and the joy of watching these planes soar. Apparently there is an RC plane club out at Mather in the Rancho Cordova area.

I will be completely straight forward- I have no idea when hobbyists are out there flying there awesome RC airplanes. Weekends are my assumption. I did find a website for the Mather Aerospace Modelers, and I am sure that if someone was interested in spending an afternoon just viewing the airplanes, the club would welcome guests. Watching hobby airplanes fly is something I would like to do in the near future, and if I get the opportunity I will definitely post more details about the different events that take place here in the Sacramento area. Flying hobby airplanes sounds to me like a great way to spend some quality time with family, and can be very educational as well.
