Yet another day of smoky air…
Today is yet another smoky day in the region. If you haven’t done so yet, check out the map of active fires and you will see jut how much fire crews are up against. Click on this link to get to the map: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=110735790609633874400.00044f7bd13c461bb9ba2&ll=39.147103,-120.212402&spn=8.789921,13.491211&z=6
The air quality is actually worse today, and I for one am finally feeling the effects. My eyes are watery and I just feel congested as if I had I have a cold. One other thing that is really getting to me- not seeing the sun! It has been so dark and gloomy, like being stuck inside a yucky snow globe. My husband says he feels claustrophobic, and I can understand this, especially when I can not see more than a couple of miles in front of me. I also miss the view of the foothills.
I for one will never again take for granted a beautiful, clear summer day. There have been times in the summer when I have not noticed a cloud in the sky for a whole month at time- I miss that.
Please be sure to take the necessary precautions and keep children indoors until the valley air clears, which will likely be next week.
I am personally thinking about taking a trip out of town- toward the coast (but not to Big Sur of course) and
I would love to read what anyone else has to say about the valley conditions lately, and how you are keeping busy with indoor activities.
