Back to school spending and high gas prices got you down? Head for the Explorit Science Center in Davis, and enjoy free admission (Sunday only), and a whole lot of exciting and informative exhibits.

Explorit is one of my favorite places in the Sacramento area to visit- in fact, I am a member of the museum. And although Explorit is not technically in Sacramento, it is just a short drive to Davis. Head West on I-80, exit Mace Blvd (to the right), go left at the first stop light and continue until you see the center on your right.

Children and adults alike will enjoy the hands on exhibits at Explorit, and the educational demonstrations that take place at scheduled times. One of my favorite exhibits is the magnifying area which is hooked up to a TV screen. Here you can check out your tongue, or arm hair, or the inside of your ear and everyone can see it on the screen! What fun!
